Tennis anyone?

Thank you for all the fabulous emails and comments. I truly didn't expect so many to read this blog. I hope it doesn't disappoint. And for all your security conscious ones, as you can see, this is now by invitation only (apologies for the invite delay) .

Mia can now play tennis in her own front yard. No, we haven't bought that property in Toorak with the tennis court, but we do have tandem tennis! Cheap thrills for $20... she loves it and its great for my hand-eye coordination. We're just waiting for someone to come and serve us tea. Must get some tennis outfits so I can look the part.

Other highlights of the week:

Poppy playdate with one of her favourites- Eadie.... they even held hands (see photo from the official photo shoot, you really worked it girls!) Bron and I have decided they'll be forced to be friends so we may as well start them early.

That afternoon I almost fell off my real-estate wagon and back on to the road of real-estate obsession following Bron's encouragement to seriously consider that house. I must be honest here, I actually did a drive by, which, luckily turned me off the purchase (street wasn't as nice as I expected). Close call though, I've ordered myself to abstain from all real-estate websites/papers for 2 weeks at least.

Gan Gani , Beatta, Mia's teacher is so lovely and engaging. In the small world that is Jew-world Melbourne we discovered that her daughters know Luke as they attend Mt Scopus and like the rest of the school, adore him, so I had double naches (husband and kids combo naches). I'm also getting over my initial reservation of participating in Gan Gani without a further commitment to enrol the girls at the school. There's quite the pressure to enrol, but I'm resisting and for now I'm fine with it.....

Giant fork & spoon, the arrival of: Lovely Lukey picked them up for me (all the way from Seddon on the other side of town) they look fabulous and I couldn't resist taking this photo of Poppy.... does this constitute child abuse? Please note, for all your sceptics, these are hand crafted in the Philippines.


Yummi Lunch at Lisa's with Michelle and the kids... the girls spent most of the afternoon jumping on the trampoline (Mia still calls it the jumping castle), had a ball. Although the excitement was a little too much, Mia ended up peeing standing up in the bush as going to the toilet would have meant missing out on jumping time.....

Dinner at Mirka's with Gili: Was soooo lovely, great chat, food and the art wasn't bad either. Poppy came along (breast pump not working) and was on her best behaviour. Tried to remember who it was on our street in Israel who also had a giant fork and spoon in their dining room, any takers???

Dinner at the Hughes (dress ups, ghost play, torch under the covers, bath time- the kids that is) they're so cute together, albeit rather hyper. Mia scored a lend of Angus' Thomas The Tank Engine PJs and has struggled to take them off since (she's already borrowing boyfriend's clothes, should we be worried?). Perfect Smile

I've just booked the dental appointment to re-commence my dental extravaganza. At the end of my treatment I expect to look like this woman (and Luke will also miraculously develop a Hollywood smile and don baby blue roll necks... hang on, I think he may already own one).

Something that does put a smile on my dial is these beautiful photos of Mia in her new Tutu. She wore it last night for the video screening of Hans Christian Anderson. I love this tutu so much that we now have it hanging in our living room as an obje'.



And I'm loving this photo of Poppy. So Happy!

A house I'm obsessed with:
1960's style of course, and actually cheap (potential, potential, potential)! It's a great spot too, like living in the bush... however, such bad timing, I think it looks like it needs some serious $s for a reno as well. Yes I continue to do this to myself....I'm ok though, as I've explained to many of you, I'm like an alcoholic who can handle a social drink. I do ask though, that you hold an intervention for me should I show signs returning to my disorder which peaked during my previous mat leave.

I'm a blogger!

...well, kind of.

I thought this would be a great way to capture our going-ons and keep the family & friends informed.

I'm hoping my posts will be interesting and capture some aspects of the life of our little family. I've never been much of a writer (I've always enjoyed using the excuse that English is my 2nd language, but God help me, I wouldn't dare write in Hebrew)

Anyhow, now is a good time to start writing, Mia has just turned 3 and Poppy
3 months, both gorgeous beyond my wildest imagination. Our life is rich and busy so I wonder how and what I'll cover, but we'll see.

So we've just come out of another fabulous weekend.

After our regular Friday night dinner with Safta, Mia enjoyed an afternoon with her boys at Kieran's 3rd Birthday party. Came back exhausted and suffering from a sugar come-down (on left the offending lollipop from the lolli bag)... Luke managed to get her to sleep.

Meanwhile I spent the afternoon with Anna's family, acting as official photographer for the afternoon as the Orbachs posed with the Buba in their wedding gear (wouldn't dare put any of these photos on, Anna would kill me!). The buba was also dolled up, looking lovely. Poppy was rather unimpressed with the whole ordeal and after spending most of the time in the baby bjorn, decided she had enough (massive screaming fit, got her to sleep at the end).

On Sunday had a special treat, Gili (childhood friend), Osnat and their kids Jonthan and Shira came to visit from Israel! Was wonderful seeing them, despite the delay (they followed the sat-nav and ended up in Deer Park!). Amazing to finally meet their gorgeous kids after all this time.

Today had a pretty smooth day, took Mia to her 2nd Ballet class (loved it, got to see some moves) and Poppy was pretty chilled, enjoyed a chat with the other mothers.

Talk about multi-tasking,while I've been waiting for this to download, I bought a 1960's teak giant spoon and fork for the dining room... yes I know really daggy, but I've coveted them for some time now. I need to head to the other side of town to pick them up.

What I'm... watching: The Sound of Music (love it, almost as much as Mia, Mia's favourite song is Koo Koo....), and just started Arrested Development on DVD.

Reading: the papers, but not enough and just started The God of Small Things (after a failed attempt to read White Teeth)

Grateful for: Healthy, gorgeous, entertaining family, beautiful, fun, true friends, glorious winter days, organic chocolate, creative people everywhere (totally obsessed with Loobylu and etsy websites, thanks to Melissa), Luke's delicious lattes every morning, Poppy's little sounds, glorious cuddles from Mia & not working!!!!!

Wishing for: Continued health, more time for myself (so I can think, learn inc how to play Piano, how to sew, create stuff) and with friends, and some alone time with Luke. Summer. However, can't really complain getting a little bit of each right now (hoping to get some summer in Sep????).
