Mia is back to her old gorgeous self, hurrah!I almost forgot how deliciously beautiful, kind, compassionate, affectionate and hilariously funny she can be. What is it about children that when they are in a phase, all evidence of their other selves seem to disappear from memory and you actually believe that your destiny is cast for all eternity?
I guess Mia is a little like me, really needs her own space and time. She suddenly looks so small in her room on her own, and the room appears larger than ever (despite the enormous crown, a la She's a little Princess on ABC TV with narration by Julian Clary).
Poppy is less gracious about her new found abode and is continuing to call in favours (last night
four times!). We've established a system where Luke attempts to settle her first, then if all else fails, she gets boob. As a result, we are both still absolutely shagged and have come down with some nasty lurgy. Thank goodness for good friends (Anna) who have come over on Cup-Day, soup in hand to lend us some energy by taking Mia and Oscar to the park.Still, we've had some precious moments of late with the highlight involving one coffee bean (yes, one of those behind Poppy in her bath, very convenient for her to bathe there, only a single reach for a quick latte after bath). Mia inhaled a coffee bean! She loves to sniff things and sniffed rather too enthusiastically. Panic followed, as she squealed with her index finger up her nose hoping it would magnetically pull the bean out. However, it was too far gone. Luke chucked her in the car and off the doctor's they went. After a few minutes in the waiting room, it occurred to Luke that she appeared rather calm and happy playing in cubby house when he asked her: " Mia, is the coffee bean still up your nose?" "No" she replied, she had in fact swallowed it.
It was also amusing to see her play with a couple of old favourite boyfriends this weekend (she clearly has a maaaasive crush on Max). As usual, within minutes of them greeting one another, they had nuded up, Mia parading around Sharon Stone style in her little orange dress. She was so excited to have an audience as she sat on the window seal channeling little orphan Annie (by that stage we managed to redress her), looking reflective.
I missed an excellent opportunity for a Youtube moment when she rode around on her tricycle spinning her undies around on one finger yelling out "woohoo!"
I do hope to capture some of Poppy's funny faces as she eats, yes, I did say EATS! We were thrilled this week when she finally agreed to actually swallow the food rather then tease us by sitting nicely in her bouncer, smiling and gurgling with it sitting not so pretty on her tongue. Favourites are yogurt and potato, but we've also had some limited success with carrot, banana and apple.

I do hope that Max was a little person... I'd hate to think that Mum's Max nuded up with Mia.....LOL!!
Thanks chicks, Kel, this is a bit of my therapy, and to you Sara, oh yes, little Max rather than big Max!
Poor Inbar & Luke. Up 4 times last night. I do really feel for you. Hope you are dosing up on vitamins and any other drug you are permitted whilst breastfeeding.
Looking forward to dinner on Friday night. Would you like me to pick you up so you can have a drink? (Sounds like something strong is in order)! If so, please pass on your address.
Big hug.
Michelle
